Go Bible menurut saya merupakan software Alkitab paling representatif untuk java based mobile phone dan compatible untuk berbagai macam merk mobile phone.

Go Bible merupakan software yang dikembangkan oleh Jolon Faichney mulai 2003 dan dibuat sebagai freeware dan open source.

Go Bible is placed into the public domain just like the KJV. I couldn’t imagine charging for something that helps spread the Gospel. However, in the future I may release versions that use translations that require license fees. For such versions, I will pass the license fee onto the user. However, I never intend to charge for versions of Go Bible that use translations with no licensing fees.

Go Bible disediakan dalam dua versi yaitu sebuah program tunggal yang memuat seluruh kitab mulai dari Kejadian hingga Wahyu, minus deuterokanon, dan program yang dipecah menjadi satu kitab per program.

Feature yang menarik dari program ini antara lain : SMS-kan ayat, bookmark, fast search, searh history dan theme yang bisa dirubah-rubah.

Go Bible telah dikembangkan dalam kurang lebih 22 bahasa termasuk Bahasa Indonesia Terjemahan Baru dan satu hal yang membuatnya lebih menarik adalah bahwa developer menyediakan resource yang dibutuhkan bagi orang yang ingin mengembangkan Go Bible lebih lanjut. Dengan kata lain, orang lain boleh melengkapi terjemahan Bible yang belum ada. Jolon Faichney menyediakan Go Bible Creator termasuk source code yang diperlukan.

Salah satu orang yang mengambangkan Go Bible lebih lanjut untuk versi Indonesia adalah “Go Bible Indonesia” dengan mengkoreksi kesalahan ketik dan menambahkan judul perikop pada Go Bible.  Berkut quote dari website mereka :

- Teks lebih akurat karena diambil dari program Alkitab Elektronik 2.0 LAI
- Sudah ada perikop yang diambil dari program Alkitab Sabda
- Versi TB: PL dan PB versi Terjemahan Baru 1974
- Versi TB1: PL dari Terjemahan Baru 1974, PB dari Terjemahan Baru Edisi 2 1997

Selain itu “Go Bible Indonesia” juga menyediakan beberapa versi lain antara lain : FAYH (Firman Allah Yang Hidup), Voice of Wilderness, The Message, Amplified Bible, dan juga gabungan dari dua versi dalam satu Go Bible.

Erick Stefanus Jahja mengembangkan versi lain  dengan menambahkan kitab-kitab Deuterokanonika ke dalam Go Bible. Hal ini tentunya sangat membantu. Feature yang ditawarkan kurang lebih sama dengan Go Bible original karena memang ini adalah modifikasi. Go Bible modifikasi ini juga ditawarkan gratis. Berikut kutipannya :

    saya sudah download go bible, tapi ada masalah saat diinstal ke samsung star saya. setelah diinstal keluar tulisan java error, no memory available (padahal memory saya masih banyak free) mohon bantuannya thanks

    Aduh, secara teknis, saya tidak paham pemrograman mas, mionta maaf ^:)^ .
    List “supoported phones” di Go Bible memang tidak lengkap tapi tidak berarti hanya terbatas pada jenis itu. Punya saya K630i, juga tidak terdaftar di list, tapi bisa jalan normal.

    Saya sarankan mas Eddy bergabung dengan Forum Go Bible, di LINK INI, banyak masalah instalasi Go Bible di bahas di sana.
